Version 0.2.6 Patch Notes!


Welcome to the first documented patch notes!


New contents:

-The Pause Menu! Can be opened by pressing ESC

-Ending room to the first dungeon, featuring a collection of shoes

-Added an AOE weapon mechanic

    • -Fireball: Deals [P] damage to all enemies
    • -Angry Quadopus: Inflicts poison on all enemies

-Added a Shock mechanic for enemies. Shocked weapons will deal minor damage to you when used

-Added 6 new enemies

-More permanent stat upgrades scattered throughout the world

-Added most of an optional dungeon, it only needs a boss now

-General additions to parts of the overworld that were empty



Changes:

-Options menu is now easier to navigate without a mouse, though it still needs some work

-Dialogue choices are now harder to mash through in order to prevent accidentally choosing one.

-Dying will now only deduct 1% of your EXP instead of 25%

-Player characters now gain ATK at certain levels

-In the options menu, can now adjust player movement speed to greater minimums and maximums

-Displayed weapon damage will now scale with buffs. (Chair used to always say "deals 4 [P] damage", but now it will display the proper damage value)

-Targe and Teddy Bear are now +1 DEF point stronger

-Coffee heals an additional +1 Mental HP

-Bosses and Elites have less EXP loss when you defeat them at a higher level than them.

-Bosses become a slight bit tankier when fighting them with a full party.

-Multiple enemies had slight changes in their EXP values

-Dialogue in the second dungeon (The place with Ghoo) was mostly revised



Fixes:

-The browser version should hopefully work a bit better now.

-Fixed a bug where defeating Ghoo with poison after he used his charged up attack would softlock the game

-Enemies can no longer spawn with 0 HP

-Fixed a bug where on the main menu, if you opened the options menu and clicked in specific spots, you could start the game

-Removed the Victory text that would display after defeating 3 Tej Grandos without dying. (This was legacy Game Jam code)

-Fixed overworld battle music not syncing properly with the normal overworld music

-Moving up a screen right after leveling up will no longer cause the EXP bar to stay white.

-Fixed a weird bug where dying after killing 2 out of 3 enemies would result in a victory and a defeat at the same time

-Fixed a bug where if you ran into a dialogue trigger while constantly switching characters, it would disable character switching afterwards.

-Fixed a certain tree sprite having too low of a Z position

-Taga no longer talks about snails when she's in a cave that isn't the Snail Cave



Known Issues:

-The game sometimes lags when walking over a dialogue trigger you already completed
